The aim of this module is to provide the teachers basic knowledge about how to run a small business based on FT values with the students inside the school. They will also learn how to teach the students how they can be involved in changing the world around them, encouraging them to know that they can make a difference, that through supporting and promoting Fair Trade in your school, they can empower farmers and workers in marginalised countries. Participants will be first asked about what they have learned in the previous module. They will get basic notions about FT and how to be a FT school. They will also take new ideas to introduce FT in their daily activities and finally the module will show them how to create and manage a FT shop with the students.
Session 1 – What do you really know about Fair Trade? (1h30)
The objective is to evaluate previous knowledge about FT learnt in the "Introduction to FT" module.
Session 2 - Contents to develop Fair Trade (2h)
The objective of this session is to teach the teachers how to develop the students' awareness about FT
Session 3 - Pedagogical methods to use to teach Fair Trade (2h)
The objective of this session is to give pedagogical skills in order to develop practical exercices in class.
Session 4 - How could our school use FT products? (1h)
The aim of this session is to provide practical ideas to implement FT in school.
Session 5 - How to run a shop in the school (1h 30m)
The aim of this session is to learn how to run a business in the school managed by students.
At the end of the training module, the participant should be able to:
- Recognize what is Fair Trade
- Teach the students what Fair Trade is
- Involve both students and teachers in launching Fair Trade dynamics in their school
- Engage and teach students to run a physical shop in their school and engage more teachers to teach and work FT in other dynamics
